Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of travel arrangements by TraveljunctionInc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “your”).

1. Scope of These Terms

1.1 Applicability

These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of travel arrangements by TraveljunctionInc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “your”). The specific terms applicable to your booking depend on the type of travel service selected.

If you book a single travel service (e.g., flight-only or hotel-only), we act solely as an agent for the third-party supplier (“Supplier” or “Principal”) of that service. Your contract will be directly with the Supplier/Principal and subject to their terms and conditions, which may include limitations or exclusions of liability.

1.2 Definitions

1.3 Importance of Reading These Terms

By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you understand and agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. About Us and Contact Information

Who We Are

We are TraveljunctionInc., a Canadian travel agency incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act and operating in Alberta.

Contacting You

We will communicate with you using the contact details provided during your booking, including telephone, email, or postal address.

Definition of “Writing”

For the purposes of these Terms, “writing” includes electronic communications such as email.

3. Lead Customer Responsibilities

The first-named person on the booking (“lead customer”) agrees, on behalf of all individuals listed on the booking, to:

4. Your Contract
5. Booking Process
6. Price and Payment

6.1 Price Information

The price of your Travel Arrangements will be displayed on our website’s booking pages at the time of booking or communicated to you during a telephone booking. All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated.

6.2 Currency Disclaimer

Currency exchange rates shown on our website are for reference only and may not reflect real-time market rates. These rates are not updated daily and may vary slightly from actual rates at the time of transaction. We do not guarantee the accuracy of displayed exchange rates.

6.3 Pricing Errors

While we strive for accuracy, certain Travel Arrangements may be incorrectly priced due to technical or human error. We verify all prices before confirming bookings. If the correct price is lower than the advertised price, you will be charged the lower amount. If the correct price is higher, we will contact you for instructions before proceeding.

If a booking is processed with an obvious pricing error that a reasonable person would recognize as incorrect, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and issue a full refund of any payments made.

6.4 Payment Terms and Methods

We accept the following payment methods:

You must ensure that the payment method used is either owned by you or that you have explicit authorization from the account holder. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available to complete the transaction.

Corporate/Business Card Surcharge

You must accurately declare the card type during payment. If you fail to do so, we reserve the right to charge the applicable surcharge retroactively.

6.5 Payment Schedule

6.6 Local Charges

Prices quoted include applicable Canadian federal and provincial taxes (e.g., GST/HST) that do not require local payment. However, certain charges may be payable directly at the destination, including but not limited to:

We will inform you of any known local charges prior to confirming your booking. You are responsible for settling these charges directly with the relevant authority or service provider.

6.7 Booking Fee

A non-refundable booking fee of CAD $125 per passenger is included in the total price for processing all bookings. This fee covers administrative and service-related costs associated with managing your reservation. The booking fee will be clearly disclosed to you prior to confirming your booking and is payable at the time of purchase.

This fee is non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellations, unless otherwise specified in a service package or required by applicable consumer protection laws.

7. Refunds

Refund Processing

Refunds are processed in accordance with the applicable Supplier/Principal’s terms and conditions, as well as Canadian federal and provincial consumer protection laws. If you are entitled to a refund, it will be issued to the original form of payment used for the booking.

Partial Refunds

Airfares and other travel services may consist of multiple components, some of which may be non-refundable. Therefore, even if you qualify for a refund, the total refunded amount may not equal the full price of your booking.

Eligibility Assessment

The Supplier/Principal is solely responsible for assessing refund eligibility. As an intermediary, TraveljunctionInc. has no control over the Supplier’s processing timelines or decisions.

Refund Disbursement

We will only issue a refund once we have received the corresponding amount from the Supplier/Principal. We are not liable for delays or denials in refund processing by the Supplier.

Refundable Components

Your total booking price includes:

Supplier add-ons are refundable only to the extent that we receive reimbursement from the Supplier. Our own add-on products and service fees are generally non-refundable unless you were unable to use them due to our error or omission.

8. Flight Bookings

Most flight bookings made through TraveljunctionInc. are not covered by a formal financial protection scheme unless booked as part of a package for which specific provincial or supplier protections apply.

8.1 Payment and Ticket Issuance

8.2 Financial Protection

Canada does not operate an ATOL-equivalent scheme. Available protections may include:

8.3 Insolvency and Service Disruption

8.4 Role of TraveljunctionInc.

9. Your Right to Amend or Cancel a Confirmed Booking

9.1 Supplier Conditions

Any request to amend or cancel a confirmed booking is subject to the terms and conditions of the relevant Supplier/Principal. Many travel services, especially airline tickets, may be non-refundable and/or non-changeable. Where changes or cancellations are permitted, penalty fees may apply as determined by the Supplier/Principal.

9.2 Non-Transferable Tickets

Most airline tickets are non-transferable and name changes are typically not permitted. It is essential that passenger names are entered exactly as they appear on their passports at the time of booking. Fare rules regarding cancellations and amendments are displayed during the booking process and must be reviewed carefully.

9.3 Our Role as Agent

As an agent for airlines and consolidators, TraveljunctionInc. is bound by the fare rules and conditions set by the Supplier/Principal and cannot override those terms. Where changes or refunds are permitted, we charge an administration fee of CAD $125 per person per change, in addition to any fees imposed by the Supplier/Principal.

9.4 Request Process

9.5 Administration Fee

For approved changes, you are responsible for:

9.6 Non-Amendable Arrangements

Some Travel Arrangements, particularly certain fare types for flights, may be non-amendable or non-transferable after confirmation. Changes may result in cancellation charges of up to 100% of the booking cost, requiring a new booking.

10. Changes and Cancellations by Airlines

10.1 Supplier/Principal Changes

As an agent, TraveljunctionInc. is not liable for changes or cancellations made by the Supplier/Principal. We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible of any significant changes and assist in coordinating alternative arrangements. However, we accept no further liability beyond this assistance.

10.2 Supplier/Principal Cancellations

If the Supplier/Principal cancels your booking, we will help you request a refund. Refunds will only be issued once received from the Supplier/Principal. We cannot refund amounts that have not been remitted to us.

10.3 Booking Fees

In all cases, the original booking fee is non-refundable. Additionally, an administration fee of CAD $125 per booking applies to cancellations, unless your booking includes a service package with alternative terms.

10.4 Role as Mediator

If you need to rebook a flight originally booked through us, we act as a mediator between you and the airline. Refund timelines vary depending on the airline and the nature of the travel arrangement. Refunds typically take 8 to 9 weeks to process, but this may differ based on the airline’s policies and procedures.

11. Our Responsibility for Your Booking

For single Travel Arrangements, TraveljunctionInc. acts solely as an agent for the Supplier/Principal. We are not responsible for the Supplier/Principal’s actions, omissions, or service delivery. Our role is limited to:

If we are found liable for any issue related to your booking, our maximum liability is limited to twice the total cost of your booking, or a proportionate amount if not all travelers are affected. This limitation does not apply in cases of death or personal injury caused by our negligence or that of our employees acting within the scope of their duties.

12. Your Responsibilities

12.1 Travel Insurance

You are required to obtain comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

You must carry proof of insurance during your trip and verify that your policy includes coverage for all destinations and activities. TraveljunctionInc. is not liable for any losses, costs, or damages that would have been covered by adequate insurance if you choose to travel without it.

12.2 Travel Advice

Before booking and departure, you must consult official Canadian travel advisories provided by the Government of Canada Travel Advice and Advisories. These resources help you make informed decisions about travel safety, entry requirements, and health precautions. We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from failure to review or follow government travel advice.

12.3 Behavior and Conduct

You and all members of your party must behave respectfully and responsibly throughout your travel. Disruptive, dangerous, or damaging behavior may result in immediate termination of your booking without refund or liability.

You are jointly and individually responsible for any damage or loss caused to property, staff, or other guests. Such costs must be paid directly to the Supplier/Principal or to us before departure. Failure to pay may result in legal action, and you will be responsible for any resulting claims, costs, or legal fees.

We are not liable for the actions or behavior of other guests or individuals not affiliated with your booking.

12.4 Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that all travelers meet the passport, visa, health, and immigration requirements for each destination and any transit countries. This includes:

We provide general guidance only. You must verify requirements with the relevant embassies, consulates, or healthcare providers. We are not liable for losses resulting from non-compliance, and you must reimburse us for any fines or costs incurred due to your failure to meet entry or health requirements. Visa requirements should also be confirmed with the airline or local embassy prior to travel.

12.5 Special Requests

If you have special requests (e.g., dietary needs, room preferences, accessibility accommodations), you must notify us at the time of booking and confirm them in writing. We will forward your requests to the Supplier/Principal, but fulfillment is not guaranteed. Acknowledgment of a request does not constitute confirmation or guarantee of service.

13. Fitness to Travel and Medical Conditions

TraveljunctionInc. is not a specialist provider of accessible or disability-specific travel services. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate special requirements.

You must disclose any medical conditions, disabilities, or mobility limitations that may affect your booking prior to confirmation. This allows us and the Supplier/Principal to assess whether suitable arrangements can be made.

If we or the Supplier/Principal determine that your needs cannot be reasonably accommodated, we reserve the right to decline or cancel the booking. If full disclosure was not provided at the time of booking, cancellation charges may apply.

14. How We Use Your Personal Information

14.1 Data Usage

We collect and use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This includes processing your booking, communicating with you, and complying with legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to fulfill your booking or as required by law.

14.2 Insolvency Disclosure

In the unlikely event of our insolvency, we or an appointed insolvency practitioner may share your personal information with relevant Canadian authorities or appointed bodies to assess your booking status and advise on available consumer protection measures.

15. Events Beyond Our Control

15.1 Definition

"Events Beyond Our Control" refers to circumstances outside the reasonable control of TraveljunctionInc. or the Supplier/Principal, where the consequences could not have been avoided even with all due care. These include, but are not limited to:

Unless otherwise stated, we are not liable for compensation, costs, or expenses arising from such events.

15.2 International Travel Disruptions

Changes in international relations, border policies, or visa requirements may affect your Travel Arrangements. We will monitor such developments and inform you if they impact confirmed bookings. While we will work with the Supplier/Principal to arrange alternatives or refunds where possible, we are not liable for compensation in these cases.

15.3 Pandemic-Related Measures

In the event of a pandemic or public health emergency, Suppliers/Principals may implement safety protocols in accordance with national or local regulations. These may include mandatory face coverings, social distancing, reduced capacity or limited services, modified entry/exit procedures, and enhanced sanitation requirements.

These measures are intended to protect your health and safety. We do not consider them to significantly diminish the value or enjoyment of your Travel Arrangements and are not liable for related claims.

16. Timetable Changes and Cancellations by Airlines
17. Changes and Cancellations Requested by You

17.1 No 24-Hour Cancellation Guarantee

To the fullest extent permitted by Canadian law, you acknowledge that TraveljunctionInc., as a travel intermediary, is not obligated to provide ticket cancellations or refunds within 24 hours of booking unless explicitly offered by the airline or Supplier/Principal.

17.2 Airline Conditions

The airline sets the conditions for changes to passenger names, destinations, travel dates, and cancellations. We have no control over these policies.

17.3 Processing Requests

If you request a change or cancellation, we can process it on your behalf provided the airline’s conditions allow. We will inform you of any applicable service fees or restrictions. Requests must be received at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

18. Other Important Terms
19. Pricing and Fare Conditions

19.1 Pricing and Currency

All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to availability at the time of booking. Prices may fluctuate due to market conditions, supplier updates, or currency exchange rates.

19.2 Included Fees and Taxes

At the time of confirmed quotation, fares include all pre-payable taxes and applicable transaction fees. These are combined to form your final quoted price.

19.3 Local Taxes

Some destinations may require additional fees to be paid locally, such as departure or arrival taxes, resort fees, or tourism levies. These charges are the traveler’s responsibility and must be paid directly at the destination. TraveljunctionInc. is not liable for denied boarding or service refusal due to failure or inability to pay such local taxes.

19.4 Booking/Transaction Fee

Your ticket price typically includes a non-refundable booking or transaction fee charged by TraveljunctionInc. to cover the administrative costs of managing your reservation.

19.5 Service Fees

We may apply additional non-refundable service charges for administrative services such as itinerary changes, special fare handling, or manual booking support. These fees are separate from any charges imposed by the Supplier/Principal.

19.6 Fare Changes

Airfares and travel service prices may change without notice. If a fare is adjusted by the airline or we identify an error before travel begins:

19.7 Special Fare Arrangements

For special fares, one-way flights may be paired across different airlines or within the same airline. Each flight segment is treated independently, meaning cancellations or changes to one segment do not affect the other. Disruptions (e.g., strikes, schedule changes) are governed by each airline’s fare rules and additional costs may apply for modifications.

19.8 Special Fare Verification

Special fares for scheduled flights are subject to verification by our ticketing team. If we are unable to honor the quoted fare, we will notify you within three (3) business days.

19.9 Currency Conversion Costs

For products priced in a foreign currency, we reserve the right to apply a surcharge to cover currency conversion costs and exchange rate fluctuations.

20. Passport, Visa, and Health Provisions

20.1 Documentation Requirements

It is your responsibility to ensure that all travelers possess a valid passport, any required visas or entry permits, and any necessary health documentation (e.g., vaccination certificates). You must also account for transit points in your journey, which may require additional visas or documentation. Visa applications can take time, so we recommend applying well in advance.

20.2 Destination-Specific Requirements

Each destination has its own entry formalities, health protocols, and vaccination requirements, which may vary based on nationality. You are responsible for verifying these requirements with the appropriate embassy, consulate, or health authority and ensuring compliance before departure. TraveljunctionInc. is not liable for any incidents, delays, or denied entry resulting from failure to meet official regulations. We strongly urge you to confirm all requirements for your destination and transit countries prior to travel.

21. Financial Protection for Your Booking

Canada does not operate an ATOL-equivalent scheme, and TraveljunctionInc. is not registered with TICO. Available protections may include credit card chargeback rights and travel insurance policies purchased by you.

21.1 Insolvency and Alternative Arrangements

If TraveljunctionInc. or a Supplier/Principal becomes insolvent, we will endeavour to assist in arranging a suitable alternative or refund where possible. If neither we nor the Supplier can fulfil the services, you may be eligible to claim through your travel insurance or credit card issuer. We are not liable for losses unless funds are recovered from the Supplier or covered under applicable consumer protection programs.

21.2 Assignment of Claims

In the event you receive compensation or benefits through an insolvency or other financial protection process, you agree to assign any related claims to the paying authority or insurer. This may include claims against TraveljunctionInc., the Supplier/Principal, or your credit card issuer.
